With interior design becoming a hobby rather than a chore for many of today’s homeowners, the practice of doing up ones house has taken on a bigger role in the everyday life of many. Flooring is often a big choice in decoration terms, and one current trend is to do away with the traditional carpet and buy laminate flooring.

Your cheaper laminate flooring will probably only last a few
years. Most of the better will come with a life time guarantee.
It is all in how it is made….the better stuff has a thicker core
which doesn't sound as loud when you walk on it.
It works great in kitchens and baths also. Here is a web site
that can explain it to you. Hope this helps.

1. Consider the thickness of the flooring…goes from just under 1/4" to just under 1/2". The thicker it is the better the durability, but, more expensive.
2. When buying it, look for the products that have the NALFMA seal, which will describe the minimum performance standards. The seal means the product meets requirements.
3. Home Depot and Lowe's offer installation services. If you opt to go with the flooring outlet, they may or may not.
If not, find flooring contractors, get estimates with labor warranty/guaranty, in writing. The contractor can also get the flooring. If he does, get a material warranty in writing as well.
Before deciding on a contractor, get references and check with the BBB in your area. Better safe than sorry!
4. As for putting it in the bathroom/kitchen, it would look beautiful. My only concern would be the "what if" a leak happens? If a leak popped up and it was a big one, that could mean the flooring might have to be replaced.
Hope this helped and, enjoy your new floor

I have installed this stuff for a long time do not puit it in you bathroom no matter what anyone says water will kill that floor in about a week also what are you going to do about your toalit it is suppsed to sit on top of the flooring laminate is a floating floor it need to be able to have movement to expand and contract. I have it in my kitchen it is ok but one refrigerator leak and it is shot the water will sit under the floor and crate all kinds of mold. you can but from anywhere. you should figure out who is going to be installing if it is goona be you you need to have some skills the door jams are going to need to be under cut some places are going to be tricky if you want the job done right and nice i suggest you have a pro do it.

What are some tips for choosing laminate flooring? I am overwhelmed by all the choices and options.?
I am looking at laminate flooring for a whole house re-do. I found good prices at a flooring outlet store. Would it be okay to buy from them, or should I stick with Lowe's or Home Depot or a name brand, such as Pergo?
What thickness should I choose? I have no children, and it's just me, so product wear would be minimal.
My place is small and the spaces flow into one another. I'm thinking of doing kitchen and baths as well. Good idea or bad?
