Industrial sewing and fabrication?
I am really wanting to get involved in industrial sewing. However, I'm finding it very difficult to find any sort of lessons, or classes, or anything that a beginner would need.
My main goal is to be able to sew tarps, boat covers, straps, and things of that sort..
ANY help is much needed and appreciated.

This sort of thing is often learned by apprenticeship or learning on the job, but there are also trade schools offering classes... LA Trade Tech has power sewing classes, for instance.
Some suggested resources for you:
http://www.beaconfabric.com/vindex.html (check out some of the sewing books and videos) -- Lydia and Buddy, owners of Beacon, ran a marine upholstery shop for many years -- they might be willing to give you some tips on where to find training.
http://www.fashion-incubator.com -- meant for designers who are getting in to manufacturing, and not especially relevant to most canvas work, but some good information there like the posts on training a new sewing machine operator, and the charts on seam types.
