Are smoke alarms required to be installed by a landlord on their rental properties?
If you are renting out housing to people are your properties required to have smoke alarms installed?
This would be rental property in Kentucky. I am thetenant and not the landlord. My town house has no smoke alarms installed what so ever and doesnt look like there have ever been any here. He also refuses to fix my furnace which is what I am suppose to heat my home with. It is now about 50 degrees in my house because of no heat.
Yes, and they also have to be working, which means they have to either hook them up to the power supply and/or put in the batteries. (the ones hooked up to power still need a back-up battery)
How many you need depends on your state. I am very paranoid and put them in each bedroom, the kitchen and the garage.
