can you step up the voltage of a petrol generator from 110v to 240v?
and would this have any effect on the watts produced, currently 3kw at 110v, could someone point me towards someware i could purchase an adapter that would do this in the uk with standard uk 3 pin socket(s) would be greatfull for your wisdoms on this one, thanks
You can buy transformers of any size to step up 120 to 240 VAC. Check the frequency, it should be 50 Hz. Also check the frequency of your generator.
If this is a 60 Hz, you may have problems with some appliances, such as TVs and any thing with a motor.
reference has one transformer, there are many available. This one does not specify frequency, you should check with the manufacturer to see if it will handle 50 or 60Hz, whatever your application requires.
