To start with.. Oak will be the cheapest , since it s most abundant. It s a very good wood. It has its own type of graining to look at. Walnut not as common and graining look is totally different, more towards the browner tones.Oak can be more red and white tones. Bruce is a pre finished hardwood . It has many woods and colors to choose from. The finish on a prefinished is done in a factory setting so it s controlled. The finish top coat on most is tougher and has a special coating but I won t get into that unless you want..Bamboo is more of a green product were it is more of a renewable resource. One thing to help you judge a wood quality is the hardness. Ask for the Janka rating. It s been awhile but for a rough guess the oak was rated in the 900s and walnut / cherry is in the 1000s But check it out for sure so it ll give you better knowledge Any question s you can e mail me GL

Hi, The color and wood grain is different amongst the different species creating a different look. The more common species such as oak will be less expensive than an exotic species such as brazilian cherry. The hardiness of wood is rated by the Janka Hardiness scale http://www.hardwoodlaminateflooringguide.com/Janka-hardness-scale.html Bamboo is a renewable resource but you need to buy from a reputable company as some harvest it too young and then it is soft.

Hardwood flooring is a beautiful floor but you do need to do some preventative maintenance to keep it looking good.http://www.hardwoodlaminateflooringguide.com/cleaning-hardwood-floors.html You can check out Consumers Reports Magazine at your local library to see which brands are reccommended or go online to look at some reviews. Bruce is a brand name and well regarded. Go to a flooring store and take a look at the different species and see what appeals to you. Make sure you check out their warranty and that they stand behind their product. Hope this helps.
